My only brother, Darrell, passed away on December 25, 2021. Two months later, I began writing short stories that can be read in one minute or less. Writing saved me from spiraling into a deep depression. Four months after Darrell's passing, my mom fell and broke her hip in April 2022. My inspiration for these nonfiction short stories comes from caring for my 89- and 93-year-old parents. These stories document the final years of their lives from the perspective of their caregiver. All stories are written in chronological order. My stories aren't just memories; they're moments lived and felt in real time.
